As a twenty-one year veteran, my career started in 1993 as UNIX Administrator for SparkNET Interactive. I continued to grow in the Internet and web hosting industry working with businesses of all sizes ranging from small local start-ups, regional ISP providers to those on the national scale, such as Time Warner Telecom.
In 1995, I accepted a career at Internet Connect, as a Network Engineer. Three years later Internet Connect was purchased by Time Warner Telecom, and I was promoted to Director of Network Engineering.
In 2002, I joined Netsonic as Technology Architect (Director of Hosting Technologies). I maintain the datacenter infrastructure and all networking elements and technologies within, new product development, optimizing and re-purposing servers, cloud management and network security. Here at Netsonic, we build the infrastructure that creates a stable and reliable vehicle for the other geeks who build web applications and host other IT related services. I have designed and implemented IP networks, created new and affordable web and email hosting products, built on-demand cloud hosting platforms, and a variety of other datacenter solutions for small to mid-sized businesses.
2012 was a fun year as my employer and I secured a complex, but fun iPhone application project for a multi-store franchise owner of a very well-known sandwich shop. The requirements were a highly available, secure, fault-tolerant (Windows based) platform to host the back-end operations for an iPhone ordering app. I designed and built an affordable virtualized infrastructure using Microsoft SQL clustering, redundant and replicated shared storage and a number of front-end HA-Proxy load-balanced IIS servers. The platform recently passed a Level 1 PCI compliance certification.
With more than 20 years of growth in the industry, I have become an experienced, passionate, driven IT professional of varied technical roles. Fortunate enough to have been part of the technology wave from the point where the Internet became mainstream to where it is today, I have enjoyed a wide-ranging career starting as a technical support representative. From there I worked hard and earned my way into middle management and eventually director-level positions. With a passion for solving complex datacenter and hosting issues, I design custom solutions to tackle the challenging technical needs customers face as their online business presence grows.
